DBT- BIOTECH INDUSTRIAL TRAINING PROGRAMME (BITP) 2025-26

Guidelines/detailed Information/instructions for students

  1. Eligibility:

    Students with B.E / B.Tech / M.Sc. / M.Tech. / M.VSc. / MBA in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics and students admitted under DBT PG teaching programme in Biotechnology with a minimum of 50% marks and who have passed out in academic year 2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025 are eligible to apply for training program.

  2. Documents:
    Before applying online, candidates should keep following documents ready:
    1. Scanned passport size photograph in .jpeg format
    2. Scanned signature in .jpeg format
    3. Self-attested copy of final certificate/mark-sheet of graduation and post-graduation indicating the cumulative percentage of marks or CGPA.
    4. Debit Card/Credit card/UPI or internet banking details for online payment of an amount of Rs. 900/- towards non-refundable and non-transferable application fee.
  3. Computer Based Test:
    1. Candidates would be selected through a computer-based test.
    2. Test would be conducted in multiple cities across the country (Indicative list given at Annexure 1).
    3. Applicants need to select test city preferences. An applicant can select three different preferences of cities. Efforts would be made to allot one of the three opted cities/centers, however in certain cases candidate may be allotted a different city/center due to administrative reasons.
    4. Eligibility certificates of only selected candidates would be checked. Selection would be subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
    5. Candidates whose applications are found to be complete in all respects will only be eligible to appear for test.
    6. Admit card will be sent to the candidates on their registered email id.
    7. No request for change of date of test or test center will be entertained.
    8. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the test.
    9. Structure of the test is given at Annexure 2 (subject to change).
    10. Syllabus for online test is same as syllabus of M.Sc. General Biotechnology (given on website of Department of Biotechnology (DBT)).
  4. All correspondences related to the programme from DBT HRD PMU at RCB Faridabad to candidate will be sent to registered email id only. Candidates must provide a valid email id in application form. DBT HRD PMU will not be responsible for delivery failures to the invalid email ids provided by the candidates, at the time of application.
  5. Mere completion of application process does not guarantee training under BITP.
  6. Training does not ensure permanent placement.
  7. The selected candidates can be placed for training anywhere in India. Though efforts would be made to place candidates for training near to their home town.
  8. Candidates placed for training will have to make their own arrangements for lodging & boarding. The trainer company may/may not provide boarding/lodging facility or help in finding accommodation.
  9. Candidates will be required to follow the rules and regulations of the trainer company. If the trainee leaves the training in between or is terminated, stipend will not be paid for the rest of the training period. Non-serious candidates based on the feedback of company will be terminated without notice. If a trainee is terminated from a company due to unsatisfactory work or indiscipline or misconduct, the trainee will not be placed in any other company.

  1. 12 General Science questions of 1 mark each
  2. 76 Biotechnology questions of 1 mark each
  3. 12 General Aptitude/Analytical, General knowledge questions of 1 mark each
  4. The questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ's) only, with 4 choices for answer, out of which only 1 will be the correct answer.
  5. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
  6. Total time for the test will be 100 minutes.
